Greater Houston Community Foundation is home to several community-based giving circles designed to facilitate collaborative giving in the Greater Houston area. Giving circles allow donors with similar interests to come together, pool their donations, and recommend grants to the causes that matter most to them.

Making a Difference Together
“Since our inception, GHCF has been a tremendous partner and resource for the New Giving Collective. GHCF’s team of professionals work extremely hard to meet and anticipate all of our needs and they played an instrumental role in the success of our formal launch this year.”
Cassye D. Cook Provost (Founder, New Giving Collective)
“Latino Giving Houston founded its giving circle with GHCF in 2009. Since then, LGH members have been afforded the opportunity to learn from giving circles that preceded us. Whenever LGH needs assistance or wants to take advantage of a new learning opportunity within GHCF, the staff is fully supportive and gets the job done for us.”
Clarissa L. Valdez (Treasurer, Latino Giving Houston)
Giving Circles at Greater Houston Community Foundation
From our Next Gen Giving Circle and our Family Giving Circle to our Asian American and Latino Giving Circles, our collaborative efforts give individuals of all interest areas the opportunity to gather with like-minded individuals, make a difference, and support the causes that matter to them. Here are a few examples of the types of groups you can join or start at the Greater Houston Community Foundation.
Asian American Giving Circle
The Asian American Giving Circle seeks to encourage philanthropy in the Asian Pacific American community to contribute to the community in a strategic and meaningful way and to bring a new source of funding to nonprofit organizations serving the Greater Houston area.
Asian American Youth Giving Circle
The Asian American Youth Giving Circle is a collection of young philanthropic individuals who share the common goal of serving the Asian Pacific American youth community through grants and volunteer opportunities. It also acts as a way to bring new sources of funding to many of the local non-profit organizations that help serve the Asian Pacific American youth communities throughout Houston.
Community Ventures
Community Ventures, founded in 2015, creates communities of lifelong, informed, and inspired philanthropists who make strategic investments of funds, time, and knowledge that build long-term capacity for nonprofit organizations so they can better fulfill their missions.
Family Giving Circle
The Family Giving Circle at Greater Houston Community Foundation is made up of families and Youth Leaders from local schools, all working together to leave Houston a little better than they found it. Each year, the Family Giving Circle chooses an initiative as its grant focus.
Latino Giving Houston
Founded in 2009, Latino Giving Houston was created to fund deserving organizations who help Latino communities around the Greater Houston area. Since its creation, the Fund has granted $87,500 to 12 local nonprofit organizations and are continuing their efforts to help low-income Latino families in their community.
New Giving Collective
Founded in 2016, New Giving Collective seeks to establish and model transformative philanthropy as a vehicle to support and respond to the needs of the Black community in areas such as arts and culture, education, health and wellness, public policy, and research.
Next Gen Giving Circle
Aspiring Houston philanthropists work together to explore, develop, and implement tools of strategic giving through the Next Gen Giving Circle. The giving circle has granted out over $72,000 to nine local nonprofits including Second Serving — a local, Houston food rescue organization that redirects unserved/sold food to those in need.
